Somers Point, New Jersey, in Atlantic county, is 25 miles SE of Vineland, New Jersey and 53 miles SE of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The people of the city are in the Atlantic - Cape May metropolitan area. Somers Point has a population of 11,614.

Somers Point History

Somers Point was first settled around 1693. Originally, the area was known as Somers Plantation. On April 24, 1886, it was incorporated as a borough. Prior to that, it was a part of the Egg Harbor Township. Somers Point was reincorporated on April 9, 1902, as a city.
