Tinton Falls History

The earliest settlement in this area occurred sometime after 1665, when the Monmouth Patent was issued. James Grover, who was one of the patentees, realized the opportunities that lay in this region, which was abundant in iron, as well as forests and water power. He established an ironworks plant in this area along with some partners.
