Delmar History
Delmar is located in Albany County, which was founded on 1st November, 1689. It was one of many counties to be created by the Province of New York. Bennington County, Vermont was a part of Albany County at that time as well. The county was named in honor of the Duke of York and Albany, who later became James II of England.
