Mayville, New York, in Chautauqua county, is 31 miles E of Erie, Pennsylvania (center to center) and 54 miles SW of Buffalo, New York. The village is included in the Jamestown metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 1,756 people lived in Mayville.
