University Gardens, New York, in Nassau county, is 7 miles NW of Hempstead, New York (center to center) and 13 miles E of New York, New York. The town is included in the Nassau - Suffolk metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 4,138 people lived in University Gardens.
