Reidsville, North Carolina, in Rockingham county, is 20 miles N of Greensboro, North Carolina (center to center) and 70 miles NW of Raleigh, North Carolina.There are 14,485 residents in the city.

Reidsville History

Reidsville was founded in the early 1800s. At that time, it served as an outpost and stagestop and was known as Wrights Crossroads. Reuben Reid and his family settled in this area in 1814. The city was named after Reuben Reid. The area's first post office was established in 1829. Reuben’s son, David Reid, was the city's first postmaster and later became Governor of North Carolina in 1850. The City of Reidsville was incorporated in 1873.
