Beachwood, Ohio, in Cuyahoga county, is 8 miles S of Euclid, Ohio (center to center) and 10 miles E of Cleveland, Ohio. The city is conveniently located inside the Cleveland - Lorain - Elyria metropolitan area.
Beachwood was originally part of the Warrensville Township, but it was separated from the township in 1915. On June 26, 1915, Beachwood was incorporated as a village, and in 1960 it became a city with a population of 6,089. The city derived its name from the beech trees that once covered most of the city.
