Blue Ash History
Blue Ash was founded sometime in the 18th century. It got its name from the Carpenter’s Run Blue Ash Church which was built from logs of the blue ash tree. Blue Ash continued to be a rural community throughout the 19th century. The first major business that opened in the area was the Blue Ash Building and Loan. It was founded in 1908 and continues to operate to this day. Blue Ash was incorporated as a village in 1955 and as a city in 1961.
