Heath, Ohio is 29 miles E of Columbus, Ohio. It is located in Licking County and is part of the Columbus metro area. The population is 8,527.
Initially the city was host to the Newark Air Force Base, the seat of United States Air Force metrology. This function is now served by Air Force Primary Standards Lab and AFMETCAL. Licking County, named because of the salt licks in the area, was founded in 1808.
