Mayfield Heights History
The area now known as Mayfield Heights was originally a part of the Mayfield Township. In 1920, Mayfield Village was separated from the township of Mayfield along with three other villages of Highland Heights, Riverside, and Gates Mills. Later in 1925, the southern part of Mayfield Village became a separate unit and was named as Mayfield Heights. It was incorporated in 1950 as a city.
