Mount Vernon, Ohio, in Knox county, is 40 miles NE of Columbus, Ohio. The city contains a population of approximately 14,375.

Mount Vernon y History

Joseph Walker, Benjamin Butler, and Thomas B. Patterson founded the community of Mount Vernon in the year 1805. This place was a stop on the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad which connected the cities of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and St. Louis. Because of the transport facilities, Mount Vernon soon developed into a thriving community with many industries. On August 3, 2006, the F0 tornado demolished a lot of property in the city. The community was named after the estate of George Washington in Virginia.
