Richmond Heights History
Richmond Heights was originally a part of the Township of Euclid. In 1917, it was separated from the township and incorporated as a village. At that time, the area was named as the Village of Claribel. Later, in 1918, it was renamed Richmond Heights. In 1953, gas and water mains were installed in Richmond Heights. The area was reincorporated as a city in 1960. The City of Richmond Heights adopted a mayor - council system of government.
