Grove, Oklahoma, in Delaware county, is 50 miles NW of Fayetteville, Arkansas and 74 miles NE of Tulsa, Oklahoma. About 5,131 people live in Grove.

Grove History

Grove became a well known trading center in 1817. During the Civil War, Federal troops referred to the area as Round Grove. George Ward built the first house in Grove. August Safe and Tredwell Remsen established the first general stores in the area. The town site was laid in 1901. In 1907, it became the county seat of Delaware County. However, the county seat was transferred to Jay in 1911.
