Pauls Valley History
Pauls Valley was founded by Pioneer Smith Paul in the early 19th century. In its early years, the economy of the city largely depended upon agriculture. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad first entered the city in 1887. The first court house of the area was built in 1895. The city is the county seat of Garvin County.

Pauls Valley includes a number of lakes, such as the Pauls Valley City Lake and the R.C. Longmire Lake. These lakes offer facilities for fishing, camping, boating, jet skiing and hunting. The Pauls Valley Municipal Golf Course provides facilities for local golfers. One can shop at the Burr Shopping Center and the Valley Plaza Shopping Center. Apart from these, Pauls Valley hosts the Brickfest every May.
