Introduction to Bethel Park, Pennsylvania
Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, in Allegheny county, is 8 miles S of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It's situated at the margin between the Waynesburg Hills Sections and the Pittsburgh Low Plateau of the Allegheny Plateau area. Bethel Park is included in the Pittsburgh Metro Area. Rocky Ridge is the highest location in the city.
Bethel Park History
The French arrived in 1749. They traveled along the Ohio and Allegheny rivers. A lot of the region's towns were established along rivers. Fort Duquesne was a primary location during the French and Indian War. It was settled near 1800 as Bethel Township and was later incorporated as a borough. The area had been used for mining coal.

The South Park Wave Pool is a popular destination. The region offers numerous golf courses. Nearby Pittsburgh has a wide variety of activities and entertainment. Allegheny Islands State Park includes three islands situated in the Allegheny River which can be accessed by boat. Hillman State Park is nearby. Point State Park is located in Pittsburgh and includes the historic Fort Pitt and Fort Duquesne and is used for a variety of recreational activities.
