Brentwood History

Brentwood was named after an English Estate. The first settlers of the area arrived in the late 1700s. A large portion of the land was given to Revolutionary War soldiers by the state of North Carolina. The area prospered gradually but was almost totally ruined during the Civil War. In the 1920’s, the area was rebuilt and began to prosper again.
