Millington, Tennessee, in Shelby county, is 15 miles NE of Memphis, Tennessee. The city is part of the Memphis metropolitan statistical area.
The community of Millington started in 1878 when a local mill owner donated a part of his plantation for settlement. The city was named in the honor of George Millington, the plantation owner. The city was once home to famous pop singer, Justin Timberlake.
