Plainview History

Plainview was chartered on July 3, 1888, and soon afterwards became the county seat of Hale County, Texas. The Pecos & Northern Texas Railway lines were set up in Plainview in 1906, resulting in the area's rapid industrial and agricultural growth. The city of Plainview was incorporated in 1907.
