Sachse, Texas, in Dallas county, is 5 miles NE of Garland, Texas (center to center) and 17 miles NE of Dallas, Texas. The city has a population of 9,751.
Sachse History
In 1845, William Sachse, a Prussian immigrant who founded Sachse, purchased 640 acres from Collin County and later obtained an additional 5,000 acres. He also established the first cotton gins and mills in the county. Texas constructed the first school in Sachse and in the early 1900s, another school was established that also served as a site to hold town meetings.
