Heber History
The city of Heber is located in Wasatch County. It is also its county seat. The community was settled in by James Davis, Robert Broadhead and James Gurr in the year 1859. The first house in the area was built by John W. Witt. It was under Bishop Silas Smith’s direction, who was in Provo. Joseph S. Murdock became the bishop in 1860, in Heber City and vicinity, over the Latter-day Saints.
