Holmen, Wisconsin, in La Crosse county, is 11 miles N of La Crosse, Wisconsin and 113 miles SE of St. Paul, Minnesota. The village is in the La Crosse area. There are 6,200 residents in Holmen.
Holmen History
Holmen received official incorporation as a village in 1946. The community grew gradually from the mid 1940s until the 1980s, when growth was expedited greatly.

Black River State Forest, Merrick State Park, Perrot State Park and Beaver Creek Valley State Park are some of parks accessible from Holmen. Those interested in the area’s history may enjoy a visit to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum and the Children’s Museum of La Crosse. Hillview Golf Club and Walsh Golf Center are nearby as well. The village hosts the Kornfest every August.
