Overview of ACT College
Located in Northern Virginia, ACT College provides specialized career training in the field of allied health. Founded in 1983, ACT College was originally known as Computer-Ease, a technology and business training school. The school changed its name to Applied Career Training in 1992 when the college changed its focus to exclusively providing allied health programs. In 2004, the school became known as ACT College to reflect its expansion into associates degree and diploma programs.
ACT College is a recognized leader of allied health education in the Washington, D.C. area. The school’s main campus is in Arlington, Virginia; it has two other campuses in Alexandria and Manassas. Students have the option of both day and evening classes.

Areas of Study
ACT College offers five diploma and three associates degree programs. The five diploma programs include: Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, and an advanced diploma program in Medical Assisting with Limited X-Ray. The three associates degree programs are Allied Health Technology (A.A.S.), Medical Radiography (A.A.S.), and Medical Assisting with Limited X-Ray (A.O.S.).
ACT College Selectivity
ACT College has an open admissions policy and accepts all qualified students who apply. Students are encouraged to make an appointment and meet with a Career Advisor to review career goals and match students with the appropriate allied health program. ACT College has the ACT Success Plan to ensure a seamless application process. Part of this plan includes a Financial Services team to assist with financial planning to make the program affordable to all who apply.

The faculty at ACT College have quality allied health backgrounds. Faculty takes pride in delivering high quality healthcare and are able to provide personal attention to students due to small class sizes.

ACT College is a commuter school with classes offered at three locations in the Washington, D.C. area. Class schedules are flexible, with many being offered during both the day and evening. The school has solid academic and career counseling services, and utilizes a library and resources network to assist students with their work.
