Overview of American Intercontinental University Online (AIU Online)

AIU Online is the web-based branch of American Intercontinental University, an international, multi-campus career-oriented school. The online school’s offices are located in Illinois, but the school is accessible virtually everywhere that a quality web connection can be obtained. Online study allows students significant schedule flexibility in pursuing their degrees.

American Intercontinental University is accredited by the regional authority, The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This umbrella accreditation includes AIU Online.

While American Intercontinental University was started in 1970, AIU Online was launched much more recently in 2001.

Areas of Study

A student at AIU Online can graduate with an associate’s, bachelor’s or a master’s degrees, depending on the particular program being pursued. Programs at the school are career-focused providing students with skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

AIU Online Admissions

The school operates a rolling admissions process – there are no particular application deadlines. To be accepted to the school, students must have evidence of successfully completing high school or a GED. An interview with the school is required and students whose primary language is not English must also provide evidence of English language proficiency (typically an adequate score on the TOEFL is presented).

The school participates in a number of financial aid programs designed to help students with the financial responsibilities of attending.
