American River College is a two year community college located in the southern edge of unincorporated Foothill Farms in Sacramento County, California. The college was established in 1955. The campus of ARC is spread out over an area of 153 acres. ARC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
ARC offers enrollment to around 35,000 full-time and part-time students. This makes it one of the largest community colleges in California. It has its own newspaper - The American River Current, and also publishes the English as a Second Language newsletter, The Parrot.
The sports teams of American River College are nicknamed the ‘Beavers.’
