Overview of Andover College
Andover College (AC) was founded in 1967, and started offering students the opportunity to gain a higher education in the areas of business, health care, and legal studies. With campuses located in Portland and Lewiston, Maine, it has a long history of providing excellent education and convenience in location to the northeastern United States. The school is known for its excellent courses which teach the job knowledge and hands-on experience with equipment and labs, and help students get a feel for the work place prior to graduation. Many of the programs offered also include externships, which gives students the opportunities to make contacts and work in the industry before they graduate, giving them the experience needed to succeed in today's competitive work place.

Andover College's programs are designed to meet the current needs of employers, helping graduates from the programs at Andover College to stand out in the job market, and provide a lifetime of success. Most programs at the school have some type of externship requirement, which allows students to get into the job market before graduation, and work at a company in their area of study to gain experience and contacts. Many students find that they work for their externship employers after graduation. Some of the programs that are offered at Andover College include Business Administration, Legal Studies, Travel and Hospitality Management, and Accounting.
Andover College Selectivity
Andover College's admissions is simple, and starts when a prospective student visits the school's web site. From the web site, or by calling the school's admission's phone number, they can schedule a tour of the campus they want to attend. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary before applying to attend Andover College. During the tour, an admission's representative and tour guide will be able to answer any questions the prospective student may have, and can also take care of any other things that need to be taken care of like application paperwork, financial aid considerations, and class registration for students who get accepted.
Andover College Faculty Quality
The faculty at Andover College all bring their years of experience in the fields they teach into the classroom. Working along side the labs and other equipment in the hands-on learning environment, they help give students the tools and skills they need to succeed in the demanding work place of today's exciting careers. All of the faculty and staff are there to help their students do the best they can, and continue that support outside of the classroom and into the tutoring programs available to all students who attend Andover College. With face-to-face meetings with professors during office hours to scheduled group study sessions, the faculty is there to help it's students be the best they can be and graduate in excellent standing.
Andover College Student Body
The student body at Andover College is diverse, with students from all over the northeastern United States attending one of the 2 campus locations in Maine. Many students from other parts of the country travel to Maine and live in the surrounding cities and other areas because of the college's excellent reputation for education and graduation percentage. There are many places to live in and around the campuses, and the school has a housing program that will help students not native to the state find housing off campus, as there is no on-campus housing at either of the campus locations. All the students that attend Andover College share the similar goals of obtaining an excellent education through hands on training and starting a career, and this common goal results in lasting friendships and contacts.
Andover College Student Life
Student's lives while attending classes at Andover College are able to be maintained close to the way they were prior to attending classes at one of the campuses, mostly due to the flexible nature of the curriculums and class times, with a wealth of evening and night classes to accommodate working students or students that have other responsibilities such as a family. Maine is an exciting state to live in for attending college, with many different attractions to hold student's interest after classes including Maine Discovery Museum, Lost Valley Ski, and Pirate's Cove, in addition to the wealth of bars, clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, and other attractions normally associated with college cities.
