Andrews University is a Seventh-day Adventist university located in Berrien Springs, Michigan, United States. It was established in the year 1874 as Battle Creek College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Present day, Andrew University is the Flagship University of the Seventh-day Adventist school system. The university offers more than 125 undergraduate majors and over 65 graduate majors in diverse areas of study. Andrews is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary

Many students of Andrews University have gone on to become famous including notable alumni such as Samuele R. Bacchiocchi, Seventh-day Adventist author and theologian; Delbert W. Baker, author and administrator; and Alden Lloyd Thompson, a Christian theologian.

The campus of Andrews is in Berrien Springs, MI, which is a town not far from a more urbanized area. Its Seventh Day Adventists nature is one of the defining aspects of the school. Andrews is a private, not-for-profit institution. Degrees at the school include, at the school's highest level, the Doctoral degree.

Areas of Study

Andrews has a greater breadth of degree programs (majors) than most colleges of its size. The range of program offerings available from the school is especially impressive compared to its number of students. Andrews is known for its programs in architecture and planning.

Andrews Selectivity

Admission at the school is selective, not open to all who apply. Getting into Andrews is challenging; it only admitted 47% of those who applied in 2007. Three quarters of students in 2007 had SAT verbal scores of at least 470. Half of math SAT scores of accepted students fell between 440 and 610.

Faculty
