Angelo State University is a public, co-educational, state university located in San Angelo, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1928 as San Angelo College. In 1958, it was renamed to Angelo State College. In 1969, it was finally renamed to its present name. The University campus stretches over more than 250 acres of urban land. It grants admission to more than 6,000 students every year.

The men's and women's sports teams of the university are known as the Rams and Rambelles respectively. The official mascot of the University is Dominic. Students compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball.
