Arcadia University is a coeducational, private university of liberal arts located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, United States. It was established in 1853 as Beaver College. It adopted its present name in 2001. The university campus sits upon an area of more than 75 acres. The university offers more than 60 areas of study and over 7 academic departments. It grants several graduate and undergraduate degrees and various international programs.

Arcadia University’s athletics department sponsors many men’s and women’s sport teams. The university is a member of the NCAA Division III and competes in the Commonwealth Conference of the Middle Atlantic Corporation (MAC). Their sports teams are nicknamed the Knights. The Knights participate in several sports including baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, field hockey, softball, and volleyball.

Arcadia Selectivity

The admissions department at Arcadia does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 500 to 610 in 2007. A quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 590 or higher on the math SAT.
