Becker College traces its beginnings to the Leicester Academy which was established in 1784. E.C.A. Becker founded the Worcester campus in 1887. Leicester Junior College and Becker Junior College began working together in 1974 and were formally merged to form the Becker College in 1977. The college now operates both the Worcester and Leicester campuses in Massachusetts.
Becker College offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in fields such as animal care, veterinary technology, nursing, criminal justice, graphic designing, hospitality and tourism, sports management, and psychology. There are also several accelerated and professional programs of study which lead to Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees.
The sports teams of Becker College are known as the Hawks, and they compete in NCAA Division III. The athletics department fields teams in golf, football, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, equestrian, field hockey, softball, and volleyball.
