Big Sandy Community And Technical College

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is one of the 16 two-year public colleges under the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. It was established in 2003 after Prestonsburg Community College and the Mayo Technical College merged. BSCTC has the following campuses:

  • Hager Hill Campus
  • Mayo Campus
  • Pikeville Campus
  • Prestonsburg Campus

BSCTC offers degrees, diplomas and certificates in various fields of study, including general education, coal mining, construction technology, business studies, criminal justice, health and human services, information technology, transportation technology and visual communication. Apart from these, workforce training programs are also available.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College also sponsors a number of student organizations and clubs. Among these are Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Theta Kappa, Kentucky Associations of Nursing Students, Chess Club, Christian Student Union, Criminal Justice Club, Dance Team, Democratic Club, Gamer Guild, Multicultural Student Organization and the Music and Drama Club.
