Overview

Business Informatics Center is a small, private, for-profit college that has been offering career-oriented educational programs since 1982. Located in Valley Stream, New York, Business Informatics Center is committed to providing a curriculum that reflects the needs of a changing job market to successfully prepare students for entry-level position in their field of training. The Center is also committed to helping its graduates with securing employment upon completion of the program.

Business Informatics Center offers two major programs of study, court reporting and computer office technologies, both leading to an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies. Approved by the National Court Reporters Association, Business Informatics Center has also received accreditation for its programs by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Technology.

Areas of Study

Business Informatics Center offers an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies with two major courses of study:

  • Court Reporting: trains students for financially rewarding careers as a court reporter, freelance reporter, and real time (broadcast) captioner.
  • Computer Office Technologies: teaches skills leading to careers in computer operations, computerized accounting, administrative assistant, executive, legal and medical secretaries, business management, and medical office assistant.

Business Informatics Center Selectivity

Interested students must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have a pre-admission interview, and have a minimum score of 130 on the Career Programs Assessment test (CPAt). Students who meet these requirements should complete an application and visit the college for an interview and tour of the facilities.

Faculty

Business Informatics Center hires dedicated instructors who have quality experience in their field of teaching. Due to small class sizes, instructors are able to offer personalized assistance to students.

Student Body

Business Informatics Center has a diverse student body, with many students over the age of 40. In addition, the majority of students are women.
