Butler University, BU, is a private co-educational university in Indianapolis, Indiana that was founded in 1855. It sits on a 290 acre campus and offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in areas like business, health science, and fine arts. The colleges of the university are as follows:
Butler University, which participates in the NCAA Division I Horizon League and the Pioneer Football League, has teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. The teams are nicknamed the Bulldogs. BU also has nine sororities, eight fraternities, and over 115 clubs and organizations.
Butler is located in a large city, in Indianapolis, IN. The school is a private, not-for-profit institution. Degree levels at Butler top out at the Master's degree.
One of the good things about the school is its wide range of programs leading to degrees. Students at Butler often study science, medicine, music, media, and drama and performing arts.
The admissions department at the school does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 530 to 640 in 2007-2008. A quarter of students admitted in 2007-2008 scored 650 or higher on the math SAT.
