Named after the explorer Juan Cabrillo, Cabrillo College is a public community college established in 1959. The college offers enrollment to over 16,000 students. Its main campus is in Aptos, California, but there are several branches in downtown Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo Valley. Apart from these, the other locations include:
Cabrillo College offers over 80 majors, degrees and certificate programs to its students. These include courses on business, professional and personal development, skills certificates and A.S. degrees. Additionally, distance education programs are also offered for the benefit of remote students.
The Cabrillo College team goes by the name Seahawks and there are separate baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball and swimming, diving and water polo teams.
