California Healing Arts College is a massage school located in West Lost Angeles, California. Founded in 1988 by Dr. Paul Schwinghamer, a chiropractor and educator devoted to the healing arts, the purpose of California Healing Arts College is to teach students the art of massage as a non-invasive healing art, blending Eastern and Western thought with practical consideration to have a successful career upon graduation. The popular book "Massage for Dummies" listed the school in 1999 as one of the top ten massage therapy schools in the United States.

California Healing Arts College is dedicated to graduating highly qualified massage therapists who are confident, respectful, and caring with their clients, and currently offers two different massage therapist certificate programs. California Healing Arts College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

Areas of Study

California Healing Arts College offers two massage therapy training programs. The Massage Therapy/Master course thoroughly prepares students for work in any clinical massage environment, with students meeting most individual city and county licensing requirements in California. Students in this course are eligible to apply for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Exam (NCBTMB) in Massage Therapy, and is usually completed in approximately 48 weeks. California Healing Arts College also offers a Massage Therapist/Practitioner program, designed exclusively for international students who wish to explore the school prior to beginning the master program. This introductory course can be completed in just eight weeks.

California Healing Arts College Selectivity

California Healing Arts College requires that all students be serious about the field of massage therapy, and have graduated from high school or have a GED equivalent. For interested students without a high school diploma or GED, Ability to Benefit testing is offered to students who have a strong desire to have a career in massage therapy. In addition, students must demonstrate their English language proficiency prior to enrollment. All students must visit the school and have an interview and evaluation of prior training and experience. The school also requires copies of transcripts, or other verification of prior educational experience, prior to admission. California Healing Arts College has representatives to assist students throughout the enrollment process.
