Overview of Career Centers of Texas
Career Centers of Texas offers career training programs in several areas of study. The school has four campuses, all located in the state of Texas. The school evolved from the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants, an institution founded in 1966 as one of Texas' oldest private career schools teaching allied health programs. In 1985, Career Centers of El Paso was founded as a branch of the institution, but in 1998, became a free standing institution as Career Centers of Texas–El Paso, Inc. The school underwent a series of ownership changes until finally being bought by Kaplan, Inc. In addition to the El Paso site, Career Centers has established campuses at locations in Brownsville, Corpus Christi, and Fort Worth.

Career Centers of Texas Admissions
The admissions process is a streamlined one which can begin with a call to the school, where one of the specially trained Admissions Representatives can guide the applicant through each step of the process. The process consists of completing the required admissions documents, submitting the necessary fee stated on the Tuition and Fee Schedule, and completing an informational interview. Campus tours are encouraged. Admission qualifications include evidence of having earned a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or a Home Study certificate or transcript from a Home Study program that is equivalent to high school level.

The professional instructors at Career Centers of Texas have experience in the fields they teach and are prepared to share their knowledge and expertise with their students. Students get an "inside look" at what employers demand in the workplace in some of the most sought-after careers in the country.

Career Centers of Texas has an enrollment totaling roughly 2,000 students across its four campuses. The student body is diverse, with a large minority population.

The Brownsville campus occupies the entire west building of a large shopping center located just ten minutes from the Texas/Mexico border. The facility includes spacious classrooms, two student break areas, and an outdoor patio. The Corpus Christi campus is easily accessible via the city's Regional Transportation Authority bus service and ample parking is also available. The El Paso campus is located just minutes from I-10 and is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. The site consists of 10,000 square feet and houses classrooms, offices, a reception area, and a student lounge. The Fort Worth campus is conveniently located off Highway 30 and is easily accessible via the Fort Worth Transportation Authority bus service. Plenty of parking is available on site.
