Catawba Valley Community College is a public community college located in Hickory, North Carolina. The college was established on April 3, 1958, as a part of the North Carolina Community College System. It was given its present name on December 1, 1987. The main campus is spread across an area of 120 acres.
CVCC’s athletics department fields both men’s and women’s sports teams. They participate in the intercollegiate NJCAA Division III sports and are nicknamed the Buccaneers. The campus of CVCC is home to a wide variety of student clubs and organizations.
