Central Piedmont Community College, CPCC, is a large community college, located in Charlotte, North Carolina (Mecklenburg County). The school was founded in 1963. CPCC is the result of a merger between Mecklenburg College and the Central Industrial Education Center.

CPCC has seven satellite campuses and a virtual campus, all situated in the Charlotte Metro area. It is by far the largest and most wide-ranging community college system in North Carolina and South Carolina. The school is also part of the statewide North Carolina Community College System.

A number of the CPCC graduates have gone on to become famous; they include Cindy Castano, producer of National Geographic documentaries including the Emmy Award winning ‘Stalking Leopards’ and Tom Fisher, a renowned visionary in the areas of Internet, eCommerce and High Tech sectors.
