Chabot College, one of California's community colleges, is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was founded in 1961. The campus is situated in Hayward, California, just a few miles away from California State University, East Bay.

The college offers a curriculum of over 175 fields of study and confers more than 100 associate degrees and certificates to the students. The campus is built around a central plaza, and is surrounded by trees. It features a little theatre, a performing arts center, a full size planetarium, four main athletic fields and an Olympic size swimming pool.

The most notable alumnus of Chabot is Academy Award winning actor, Tom Hanks. The official mascot of the college is the Gladiator.
