The campuses at Atlantic Avenue and Webster Avenue have been operational since 1970. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

COA’s athletic department fields both men’s and women’s sports teams, which participate in a wide variety of sports like basketball, baseball and volleyball. The college is a member of the Bay Valley Conference and the California Association of Community Colleges. Its sports teams are known as the Cougars.
