Founded in 1926, College of the Sequoias, or COS, is a public two year community college, located in Visalia (Tulare County), in California's San Joaquin Valley. COS enrolls more than 10,000 students every term. The College is named after the Giant Sequoia trees, which are native to the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The College offers a variety of transfer, vocational and community based classes, which include the fire/ police academies for Tulare and Kings counties. COS offers classes on several campuses which include: COS Farm Campus, Corcoran, Dinuba, Exeter, Farmersville, Hanford, Ivanhoe, Lemoore, Lindsay, Orosi, Porterville, Strathmore, Three Rivers, Tulare and Woodlake campus.
The mascot of College of the Sequoias is the Giants.
