Situated in Omaha, Nebraska, Creighton University is a private Roman Catholic institution situated upon 108 acres. It was founded in 1878 when Mary Lucretia Creighton expressed her desire in her will to establish a school in the memory of her husband. The university offers graduate and undergraduate programs. The athletics teams of the college are popularly known as the Bluejays, or just Jays. Creighton University participates in the NCAA Division I Athletics and is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Creighton has fourteen teams in eight sports.
