Founded in 1963, Cuesta College is a public community college located in San Luis Obispo County, off the Central Coast of California. Cuesta is a part of the California Community Colleges system and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The College offers more than 76 Associate's degree programs and over 90 certificate programs. The Cuesta campus is situated just six miles from the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and six miles from San Luis Obispo (SLO).

The official mascot of Cuesta College is a Cougar and the school colors are green and white. The college has 7 sports teams for men and 9 teams for women.
