Culinary Academy of Long Island (CALI) was established in 1996 and is well known for its programs in culinary excellence. With over 12,000 square feet of new kitchen, baking, and other food preparation related facilities, the Culinary Academy is poised to give it's students the training necessary to succeed in the rewarding careers associated with the culinary arts. Together with the other excellent dining room simulations and restaurant, along with excellent reputations with employers in the industry, the Culinary Academy gives its students the tools they need to succeed before and after graduation.

Areas of Study

There are several different programs to choose from when attending the Culinary Academy of Long Island. All culinary career options available make use of the school's excellent, state-of-the-art kitchen facilities. These facilities give students the experience they need working with the types of equipment they will be using in the industry, preparing them for their careers and making sure that they will stand out among others in the job market. Some of the programs available at the Culinary Academy include Professional Cooking, Commercial Cooking, Professional Pastry and Baking, and Hotel Management.

The admission's process at Culinary Academy of Long Island only involves applying to the school. Prospective students should call or visit the school's web site in order to enroll. Students should also contact Student Services, who will set you up with a representative to go over the process of registering for the program that interests you the most, and help students in the future with things such as resume writing and hooking students up with potential employers and jobs. All students should be 18 years of age and older when applying to become part of the student population at the Culinary Academy.

The faculty at Culinary Academy of Long Island all come from a long history of excellence in the industry. All of the chefs and instructors at the Culinary Academy have worked in the industry and bring their wealth of knowledge about the culinary industry to the classroom, giving students the opportunity to learn from established and experienced chefs and professors familiar with the work place. Together with the excellent equipment and facilities at the Culinary Academy, the faculty provides an excellent learning experience with hands-on cooking and food preparation.

Culinary Academy of Long Island Student Body

The students at Culinary Academy of Long Island come from all over to take part in the school's excellent culinary programs. Students are able to commute to the campus located in Syosset, Long Island, thanks to the large number of places to live around the Long Island area. Many students choose to move to Long Island in order to attend the school. Students find that the relationships they form on campus often travel with them into the work place after graduation, thanks to the excellent relationship that the school maintains with many businesses and industry leaders in the tri-state area.

Culinary Academy of Long Island Student Life

Student's lives while attending classes at Culinary Academy of Long Island change for the better thanks to the excellent job placement opportunities available through he school's Student Services department, who help students find work after graduation quickly. Students also find that attending classes and workshops are convenient, thanks to the morning, afternoon, and evening class times associated with most programs. The long Island area is home to many interesting and fun attractions for activities after classes, including the Botanical Gardens and Arboretums, the Atlantis Marine World, and Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary.
