The college campus is located in the neighborhood of Bayside, Queens County and covers an area of 34 acres. QCC was originally a part of the State University of New York system but was transferred to CUNY in 1965.

QCC campus comprises over 8 buildings, which are used for instruction and extracurricular activities. The college offers several degrees such as Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science. It also provides continuing education programs in various fields of study.

The sports teams of QCC are nicknamed the Tigers.
