Denison University was established in 1831, and is a private, residential college of liberal arts and sciences. Located in Granville, Ohio, the campus of the university is spread across an area of 1,200 acres which includes a 500-acre biological reserve. Denison University offers bachelor’s degrees in the streams of arts, science, and fine arts.
Denison University’s athletics department fields an impressive number of men's and women's sports teams. They compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association. The official mascot of the teams is the “Big Red”. The teams participate in sports including cross country, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball, football, golf, swimming and diving, track and field, and softball.
