Overview

Founded in 2004, the Denver School of Hypnotherapy (DSH) is a provider of hypnotherapist training for individuals desiring a new career as a hypnotherapist as well as practitioners looking for continuing education training. Located in Aurora, Colorado, DSH provides a comprehensive, affordable program covering 500 hours of training in the basics of hypnosis, advanced techniques, counseling techniques, and clinical skills. In addition, DSH provides training that includes an introduction to additional modalities such as Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Gestalt, Alchemical, and Ericksonian.

DSH strives to offer a variety of hypnosis modalities and techniques and combine them with counseling skills for clients. Training includes classroom lectures, discussions, and one-on-one and group practice sessions. Students also receive hands-on training through supervised sessions with the general public. The Denver School of Hypnotherapy is owned by Pam Mills, a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and approved and regulated by the Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools (DPOS).

Areas of Study

The Denver School of Hypnotherapy offers three different training programs:

  • Hypnotherapist Training: Program held over weekends for 10 months. After successfully completing the 500 hours of training including passing all examinations and completion of 10 supervised cases with resolution, a student will pass the course and receive certification as a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.
  • Medical Hypnotherapy/Mind Body Healing - Program designed for hypnotherapists and psychotherapists wanting to increase their skills.
  • Certified Addiction Counseling (CAC) I, II, III: Classes and certification offered in conjunction with the Colorado Family Therapy Institute.

In addition, DSH offers a wide selection of continuing education courses in many areas such as marketing your practice, aroma therapy, advanced NLP, and stage hypnosis, among many others.

Denver School of Hypnotherapy Selectivity

DSH requires that applicants be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Applicants must submit an application, undergo an interview at the school, and complete an enrollment agreement upon acceptance. Applicants must also show literacy in order to demonstrate that they will be able to learn class materials. In addition, due to the intense training that takes place in the courses, students must be willing to be self-disclosing and participate in self-exploration opportunities in class.

Faculty

Faculty at DSH are highly-qualified, Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists and include four Ph.D's, two licensed counselors, a medical doctor, and a licensed Practical nurse.

The students at DSH all desire premium hypnotherapy training at an affordable rate.

Student Life

Denver School of Hypnotherapy is a commuter school located in Aurora, Colorado. Training is held every other weekend, and the school provides students with comfortable training facilities. Students are given the opportunity to work with actual clients during a supervised clinical internship at on-site clinical facilities. In addition, the school has a Student Center to assist students.
