Drake University

Founded in 1881, Drake University is a private, co-educational university located in Des Moines, Iowa. It offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs as well as professional programs in law and pharmacy. Drake is one of the oldest law schools in the nation. The university is organized into the following academic schools and colleges:

  • College of Business and Public Administration
  • College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
  • School of Education
  • School of Journalism and Mass Communications
  • School of Law

Drake is home to more than 100 student organizations. The athletic teams of Drake compete in the NCAA Division I's Missouri Valley Conference. They are nicknamed the Bulldogs.

Drake offers dorm rooms to a higher percentage of its students than do most colleges. The school values student athletics, and belongs to the Missouri Valley Conference and Pioneer Football League.
