Eastern Shore Community College was established more than 40 years ago. This 2-year institute is a part of the Virginia Community College System. The campus of ESCC occupies 115 acres of land in Melfa, Virginia.

Eastern Shore Community College awards associate's degrees in the areas of mathematics, history, English, social sciences, and natural sciences, among others. The college also offers occupational technical certificates, developmental studies programs, and distance learning courses.

Students have the opportunity to participate in various on-campus clubs and organizations, like the ESCC Student Government Association, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the Phi Beta Lambda Future Business Leaders of America. The college also provides financial aid to eligible students in the form of federal and state grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and short-term loans.
