Eastern University, also known as EU, is a private, co-educational, Christian university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1925 as a department of Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. It became an independent institution in 1952 and was granted the status of university in 2001. The main campus is spread across an area of 92 acres. The university operates four major campuses. Eastern offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • Campolo School for Social Change
  • Esperanza College
  • Palmer Theological Seminary
  • School of the Arts and Sciences

Eastern University has an active student life. The campus is home to several clubs and organizations based on the varied interests of the students. Some of the major clubs are The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), EU Student Athletic Trainers Association (ECSATA), and Pennsylvania Student Education Association (PSEA).
