The Eastern Virginia Medical School, EVMS, was founded in 1973 by the collective "Seven Cities" of Hampton Roads, Virginia. The campus of EVMS occupies 550 acres in Norfolk, Virginia.
EVMS offers bachelor's degrees and certificate programs in ophthalmic technology, and surgical assisting. Master's degrees are awarded in biomedical sciences, physical assisting, public health, and clinical embryology and andrology. Students can also opt for doctorate degree programs in medicine, and clinical psychology.
Students of EVMS are involved in various clubs and organizations. Among those available on campus are the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistant, Christian Medical Association, EVMS American Red Cross Club, Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team, and EVMS Sports Authority.
